First off, I loved the original Telltale Walking Dead game. It is, without a doubt, one of my favorite games of all time.
So, when I heard they were adding more to it, I was at the same time very exciting, and very nervous. I loved the original game so much that I was afraid that they'd completely screw the entire story of last one up in some god awful story that is the worst thing of all time and deserves to be destroyed in the deepest layer of hell.
(Not to mention any names...)
But, anyway, it was announced that Telltale is developing another season taking place after the events of the first one, but we didn't really know that much. Then, at E3, it was announced that special episode called 400 Days would come out soon. The trailer was pretty promising, and the idea of an anthology of stories was interesting.
For the most part, I think the game lived up to that. It wasn't perfect, and the stories were all short and to-the-point, but overall, I liked 400 Days. Basically, the DLC focuses on 5 different characters' stories during the early days of the zombie uprising. While none of the stories are life changing, and none of them are even close to the original game's story, they're all passible stories, and I enjoyed the variety of the gameplay mechanics that each story brought.
If I had any particular problem with 400 Days, it would be that it's very short. I beat the entire thing in maybe 2 hours, then had to play again because I missed an achievement, and while the stories each felt fulfilling enough, I wished that there had been more content overall.
Overall, I think it might be too early to say what exactly how good 400 Days is, because it will likely play heavily into the next season of the Walking Dead game. However, as it stands, it's an enjoyable experience with some pretty interesting gameplay, passable characters, and potential to be a lot more interesting in the future season of the game.
Three out of five stars.
